Brown and Pink or Blue Challenge

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Over at A Spoonful of Sugar the challenge this week is use brown with blue or pink. I made this Get Well Card with a Stampavie stamp called Ruffles Get Well Soon that I just got from 7 Kids College Fund here. One of my daughter's friends has a broken leg and I thought this was perfect for her. The flowered paper is from Making Memories "Chloe's Closet" collection. The blue is Bazzill's Dotted Swiss.
I colored him with Copics. I'm still not that great with shadowing and highlighting, but I keep practicing. Have a great weekend and please come back again!

Chef Tilda Loves Chocolate

Happy Friday! I got Chef Tilda and this Chocolate stamp a while back and decided to make a birthday card for a friend who loves to cook. The paper is from DCWV's Sweet Stack. I colored her with Copics, but forgot to put some Glossy Accents on her shoes. I'll go back and do that later. I had some Chocolate scented embossing powder that I used for the stamp. It smells great now, but I don't know how long that will last, but it does make it look shiny. The swirls are Thickers that I found for $1.00 at Big Lots. The aqua pearls are Recollections brand from Michael's. The flowers are Primas . Hope everyone has a nice weekend and please come back!

Tutu Cute for Cupcake Craft Challenge

Thank you for being here! I can't believe it's Wednesday already. I feel like I've really been busy but I sure don't have much to show for it. I made this card using a digital image for the challenge over at
Cupcake Craft Challenge. I love this image called Tu-Tu Cute fromMo's Digital Pencil.I colored it with copics. The colors look better in real life, but I need to get some more pink shades. The paper is DCWV's Baby Girl Nursery paper. I love that paper! The charm is from Hobby Lobby. I used a clear glitter pen on the stars and tutus. I cut the corners with an EK Success punch. I hope you like it. Have a great day and please come back !

Thanksgiving Invitations

Happy Sunday! Yesterday my daughter came over and we made these invitations. She's having Thanksgiving dinner at her house for her in-laws. Yikes! We made 12 variations of the ones in the photo. Many thanks to Kelly here for sharing the precious images. We used the Cuttlebug and Nestablities circles and scalloped circles for all the cutting. I first saw them on Sharon's blog. They are super easy to do. Hope you are enjoying your weekend and please come back!

House Mouse "Smile"!

It's Wednesday already! Thank you for stopping in to see the card I made for this week's House Mouse Challenge. The challenge was to use some or all of these:
Colour theme - Brown and Cream
Spotty/patterned paper
Brown Ribbon
Silver thread
Charm
Stamped image
Sentiment
Swirl die-cut (or something similar)
Embossed card (brown or cream or both)
Pearls (or diamontes)
I had this little image for the MCPT (Magic Colored Pencil Technique) challenge on the Cricut Message Board. I did use brown and cream, patterned paper (Martha Stewart's Golden Woodland from last year),
a HM stamped image, the sentiment "Smile" from Walk in My Garden(cut twice and then a shadow and layered), and the brown strip was embossed with the Moraccan Cuttlebug folder. I didn't have any silver thread so the stitching is brown. Does jute count as brown ribbon? The "swiss cheese" strip is an EK Success border punch. I hope you like it and thank you for stopping here. I love reading your comments!

Happy Turkey Day Card

I love every sheet, but I think I will use every single piece in this one. It is double-sided and good quality paper. I made this card using the sketch from this week's Spoonful of Sugar challenge. The image is a Pink Cat Studio digi stamp here. I colored it with Prismas and OMS, but I think I'll try Copics on the next one so the colors will be brighter. The Pink Elephant challenge is to use brown, yellow, a neutral, and one other color . It is yet another challenge for me to combine challenges. If you haven't visited those blogs I think you'll love the cards posted by their Design Teams. I hope you have a great Thursday and thank you for visiting with me.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Monday! I learned a lot making this little Thanksgiving card.
I sized everything with Design Studio and cut the card and frame with the card feature on Stretch Your Imagination. It was really easy, but my paper had a white core so it needed a lot of inking. Next time I'll use solid paper. "Happy Thanksgiving" was cut from Wild Card. I used my Cuttlebug to cut the leaves. I need to get some twine to use for the ribbon, too. I think I'll put this one in with my "samples" since I inked so much that the back is all messy. Anyway, it was fun. Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving comments.

Spots and Stripes Papertake Weekly Challenge

Happy Rainy Tuesday! The challenge this week at Papertake Weekly is called Spots and Stripes. I just got this little penguin digi image from Pink Cat Studio here and thought he'd be perfect for this. I used my Prisma pencils and OMS to color him, added some Glossy Accents to his candy cane, and put liquid applique on the fur. The paper is from last year's Martha Stewart Christmas paper. The sentiment is computer generated. I've finished two Christmas cards now!

Santa Card for Copic Color Challenge

Well, it's a cool and rainy day in the South so I have spent the day card-making. Yay! The Copic Color Challenge this week is use Copic Markers G02, Bg05, and R27 or the closest color you have to those. This week I had all three of the colors ! I've been waiting a while to color this Santa stamp from Whippersnappers and I thought those colors would look great on him. I tried my new Polar White Flower Soft on the snowy parts and was a little disappointed with my effort. After it dries I'll go back and fill in the bald spots. Anyway, I loved the colors with this stamp.
Thanks for looking!
House Mouse and MCPT Challenges

Good Morning!
I made this card for the Magic Colored Pencil Technique Challenge over on the Cricut Messageboard. Every month we get an image to color with our Prisma colored pencils and OMS (odorless mineral spirits). I LOVE seeing what everyone does using the same image. This month we got this House Mouse image. I colored it and used papers from my stash. The spider , web, and bat are stickers I found on sale at Michael's. The fence is the Martha Stewart Spooky Fence punch. I stickled the little dragon costume with Lime Green stickles. The inside says.."Halloween..It's all about the candy corn. " I've seen that on several cards and thought it was perfect for this one.
The House Mouse Monday Challenge here has a challenge to use a House Mouse image and give it a movie title. I think this one looks like the children's movie " Dragon Tales". I hope you like it.

Boss's Day Card

Happy Tuesday!
My daughter asked me to make a card for her group to give to their boss for Boss's Day. I used Christmas Cheer for the cup and steam and cuttlebugged the cup with my Distressed Stripes folder .The green part is embossed with my new folder, Morrocan Screen. I love it! I inked most of the edges with Jim Holtz Distress ink (brushed corduroy).
The best thing about the card is that it smells like coffee. I used Scent My Cards Coffee available at Stamping Scrapping here. I love the way it makes the card smell. I have Coffee, Baby Powder, and Snickerdoodle scents and like all three of them.
Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a great day!

Vintage Wedding

We're back from the beach. I was sad to see that Artful Legacy is closing their storefront. It was a great scrapbook store and I looked forward to going there whenever we were at the beach. They are still going to have an online store and will be going to festivals and conferences though.
My daughter asked me to make a wedding card so I quickly made this one with an image from my Vintage Wedding CD Vol.1 from
Peggy's Vintage Images . The wedding rings are from Hobby Lobby . The rest is just some wedding paper I had in my stash and a ribbon. Super easy !
Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend!

Bella and Riley Halloween Cards

It's Saturday and today is World Card Making Day! Over at SplitCoasterStampers it looks like there will be lots of fun and prizes all day. My husband and I are leaving today for our fall beach trip today, so I won't be able to play along, but I will post two Halloween cards before we leave. The first one is a Riley Moose and was really a simple card to make. The swirly purple was in my box of scraps but seemed perfect for him. The bats , black dots, and pumpkin are acrylic stickers.
The second one is a Bella stamp. I still love the Bella stamps, but it seems that I don't see many cards being made with them lately. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss pumpkins on the orange cardstock and cut the Trick or Treat bag with my Cricut and Paper Doll Dress Cartridge. The eyelets for the ribbon were easy to do with my Crop-o-Dile. I love it! Both were colored with Prisma pencils.
Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend!
Since I'm at the beach and not crafting I'll submit the cards above for the challenge. Head over there and see what their talented DT has posted. ****

Two Challenge Cards

Happy Friday! I have two cards today.
The first one is for the Copic Color Challenge. The challenge was to use the colors G02, Y11, and V15. I don't have V15 so I substitued V12.
I used a digital stamp is from Mo's Digital Pencil. She has the cutest images for sale and I have fallen in love with digital stamps. This one is called Kimono and she was so much fun to color. I am just learning to use Copics, but I keep practicing. I used Glossy Accents on the teapot and cup to make them shiny. The flower was make with my circle scalloped Nestabilities and added Martha Stewart copper glitter beads for the center. The butterfly is a M Stewart punch.
The second card is a Baby's First Birthday card I made for the challenge over at Cute Card Thursday. The challenge was to make a card for any "first". I used a vintage baby image from my Peggy's Vintage Child's Birthday Vol.1 CD available here: There are several awesome blogs that have beautiful cards made with these images that have inspired mine.
One is here and I hope she won't mind the link.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Snowflakes and Sparkles...

The Pollycraft Challenge this week was to create something with at least 2 of these 5 "S" things: snowflakes, sparkles, spots, stripes, and swirls.
With this card I tried to get in all 5. I cut the snowflakes with my cuttlebug, used glitter on the border and Stickles for the snow, the spots on the scallops were made with a white gel pen and embossed on the sentiment, the snowman has stripes on his scarf, and since the swirls on the paper didn't show in the photo I added one under the brad for good measure. This was a really fun challenge and they have cute images for sale, too.
Thanks for visiting here today.

Calendars for 2010

I used coasters from the Michael's dollar bin, covered with patterned paper , and decorated with Changito stamps and a cut from my Paper Pups cartridge. They were so easy to put together with my Bind-It-All.
I love it! The months were computer printed using a file from SplitCoastStampers. Thank you for visiting here today.

Spooky Card

Today I made a card using a stamp from the Michael's dollar bin. Such a cute little mummy he is. I cut his tag using a Sizzix die in my Cuttlebug, traced over the stamping with a gel pen and added some hand doodling, inking, and a ribbon. " Spooky" is a rub-on also from the dollar bin.
I added some gauze for the second ribbon and "Halloween" is from a Dress-It-Up set of buttons. After missing out getting a Drippy Goo punch last year I am loving having one this year. The papers and little bat were in my stash.
Over at A Spoonful of Sugar the challenge is to make a Halloween card so I'm going to try my luck with this one. Their DT has some great cards posted if you want to take a peek.

At Last!

I have now entered the world of blogging. This will be a way for me to share my love of cards and scrapbooking and stay in touch with friends and family.
So here is my first card. I made it for a challenge on Roses on Paper. I used my Waiting Tilda stamp and colored her with Copic markers. I am just learning to use them, but was pretty happy with the way she looked. Thanks for visiting here.
Have a great day!
